THE SIX-STEP THRESHOLD METHOD
Specify the system, outcome, and condition being studied.
Identify what is directly observed and how measurement uncertainty enters the analysis.
Estimate where an apparent boundary, transition, or change occurs.
Examine observations on both sides of the proposed threshold.
Test whether the relationship survives new samples, data, methods, models, or environmental conditions.
State whether the threshold reflects mechanism, convention, regulation, statistical approximation, or another type of boundary.

Threshold & Drift is an independent educational prototype connecting behavioral economics, metascience, international economic regulation, and atmospheric science.
It does not suggest that economic decisions, legal standards, and atmospheric aerosol activation share the same mechanism.
Instead, it examines a shared methodological challenge: identifying conditions under which outcomes change, measuring uncertainty around those conditions, and deciding how strongly a boundary can support an explanation.

Observed behavior depends on the conditions under which a system is measured or governed.
A line, standard, or critical value should not be treated as self-explanatory.
